Baptist Memorial Health Care
Baptist Memorial Health Care is one of the largest hospital systems in the Mid-South and provides a full range of clinical and diagnostic services. The system includes the flagship hospital in Memphis, as well as a hospital in New Albany and several other hospitals in Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas and Kentucky. It also operates a university center with bachelor’s degrees in Health care management, nursing, radiology and nuclear medicine.
The company has made significant investments to improve its operational performance. In recent years, it has achieved a high ranking on the Truven Health Analytics 100 Top Hospitals list. In addition, its hospitals have been recognized for outstanding quality and patient safety.
The organization also offers a unique radiology residency program that gives residents early access to advanced imaging modalities and exposure to diverse pathology. Keck’s first-year Introduction to Medical Sciences course immerses students with fundamental basic science knowledge and integrated systems learning. The course also provides state-of-the-art simulation and clinical skills labs. Students also participate in research throughout their 4 years at Keck.
With the help of Lumeon, Keck’s maternity ward has optimized its patient flow with automated appointment reminder and campaign workflows estimated to save over 1,000 bed days per year. They’ve also streamlined their discharge pathways, making it possible to move patients out of the ward in just a few hours and reduce the number of unnecessary activities, tests and bed days.
PennDOT
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is a state agency responsible for maintaining and improving the state’s highways, bridges, and public transit systems. It also oversees programs involving airports, railroads and ports.
PennDOT operates 75 Driver and Photo License Centers for full service regarding motor vehicle titles, registration and drivers licenses. However, the department does not operate typical DMV offices like those found in other states. Instead, it uses messenger services to handle activities such as transferring a vehicle title or replacing a lost license.
The RBR P3 project at PennDOT experienced significant time savings compared to the traditional design-bid-build delivery method. This was largely due to the early engagement of contractors and the use of the pre-development agreement to identify and mitigate risks.
